Performing Arts Center of MetroWest
The Performing Arts Center of MetroWest (PAC) has been awarded grants from four local foundations: The Sudbury Foundation, The Foundation for MetroWest, the Framingham Cultural Council and Impact Framingham. “All of these foundations sustain the vibrancy and culture of the performing arts in this area through their generous support,” says PAC Executive Director Mary Opanasets.
The Sudbury Foundation recently awarded PAC a $12K grant to hire a part-time grant writer to help create support for the growth and financial viability of the organization.
The Foundation for MetroWest awarded PAC a $8K grant of to be used to partially fund a coordinator to implement the school music lessons PAC offered fourth and fifth grade students in the Framingham Public Elementary Schools during the 2012-13 school year.
Impact Framingham gave PAC $1.5K for scholarships based on demonstrated financial need for students, especially children and teens, to pursue their interest in theater, dance and music at PAC.
Last, the Framingham Cultural Council approve a request for $1,007 to help fund the purchase of performance hall risers at PAC’s performance hall.
One of PAC’s strongest beliefs is that the performing arts empower the human spirit and bring joy into people’s lives. We are dedicated to sharing our enthusiasm for the arts with the community and individuals. These foundation grants help create new programs, fund facility upgrades and give access to students who could not otherwise afford to participate in dance, music and theater in metro west communities. We are very grateful for these gifts.
