In 2010, tenor David Wilson’s performance of Hugo Wolf’s Italienisches Leiderbuch, part of the [plain] song’s year-long celebration of Hugo Wolf’s 150th birthday, was hailed by the Boston Musical Intelligencer as “a treasure of a musical experience”.  An active recitalist, Mr. Wilson’s recent performances include several performances of Wolf’s Mörike Lieder, Eichendorff Lieder and Italienisches Liederbuch, and works by composers as varied as Barbara Strozzi and Maurice Ravel.  David can also be seen frequently on the concert stage, having appeared as a soloist at such halls as Singapore’s Victoria Memorial Hall, Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Boston’s Jordan Hall, and Ann Arbor’s Hill Auditorium.  He has toured with the AIMS Festival Orchestra in Austria, and has performed with Orchestra Canton (MI), and the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra.

 

David Wilson has been an active teacher for almost ten years.  His students have gone on to attend many programs at the nation’s most prestigious universities and music preparatory schools.  Mr. Wilson has also been on the faculty at Middlebury College’s renowned German for Singers and Pianists program since 2011 as a voice coach and German diction teacher.  He holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance with highest honors from New England Conservatory, and a Bachelor of Music summa cum laude from the University of Michigan.
